Sell your house red by the bottle and by the glass, and every sale comes out of the same stock. You set the sizes up in the Back Office, on the product you buy and count, then add them to the sales grid on the POS. Watch the video, or follow the steps below.
Track inventory on the main product
The main product is the one you buy and count, like a bottle of wine. Every size you sell takes its stock from here.
In the Back Office, go to Products and select the main product.
Scroll down to the Inventory section and select Track its own inventory.
To enter your current stock, select the pencil icon, choose Count under Adjustment type, enter what you have in Counted amount and select Save.
Under Costs and purchasing, select Add purchasing price and enter what you pay for one, excluding tax. Tebi uses it to value your stock.
Add your sizes
Scroll down to Products using this inventory and select Add another size. The Create linked sizes window opens.
Under Add size, type a name for the new size, for example “House Red Glass 175 ml”, and select Create “House Red Glass 175 ml”.
Enter the Sales price.
Under how much of the main product is used, choose a unit, like Milliliters, and enter how much one sale uses, for example 175.
The first time you choose a unit like millilitres, Tebi asks about the main product. Enter how much one holds, for example 750 ml for a standard bottle, choose how it’s packaged, like Bottle, and select Confirm. Every size is measured against this.
To add another size in the same window, select Add size and fill it in the same way.
Turn on Duplicate product settings for each size to copy tags, modifiers, prep stations and more from the main product.
Select Save. Your sizes now show under Products using this inventory, with how much each one uses and its price.
Already sell a size as its own product? Search for it under Add size and select it, instead of creating a new one.
To change how much a size uses later, select Adjust usage next to it. To change the main product’s size, select Adjust size.
Add the sizes to the sales grid
On the POS, long press the sales grid to edit it.
Tap an empty spot and select Add a product.
Search for the size and select it. Pick a colour for the tile if you like, then tap Done.
Add your other sizes the same way, then tap Done in the top right corner.
Sell and track every size
Each tile shows how many of that size you can still sell. Twelve 750 ml bottles give you 72 glasses of 125 ml, or 51 glasses of 175 ml.
When you sell any size, Tebi takes it from the main product’s stock, so the count drops on every tile.
To see what’s left, open the menu on the POS and select Inventory. The main product shows its stock in its own unit, for example 9.68 bottles after a few glasses.
Count your stock
Count the main product, like the bottles. The sizes don’t have stock of their own.
On the POS, go to Inventory > Counts, tap + and choose Full count or Partial count.
Tap + to add products, enter what you counted and tap Review. Tebi shows the expected and counted stock, the variance, and what the variance is worth based on your purchase price.
Tap Finish count, then Approve now to update your stock. Choose Approve later if someone else should check the count first.
