What are pickup locations?
If guests collect their order themselves, for example at a counter or at the bar, you can tell them where to go.
A pickup location is a place where guests collect their order. It is made of one or more prep stations. For example, your Kitchen and Grill prepare the food and guests collect it at the "Food counter", while drinks are collected at the "Bar".
Guests then see the pickup location on the order summary page and in their ready notifications.
Before you start
Prepare your products on a digital prep station. Read here how to add a prep station.
Turn on the Ready to serve preparation step on your prep stations, so guests see Ready for pick up when their order is waiting for them.
Switch on self-pickup
In the Back Office, go to QR & Takeaway > Track & Pickup.
Under Pickup settings, switch on Guests pick up their own order.
Select Save.
When this is on:
The order summary page tells guests "When a location is done, collect your order there." and shows Ready for pick up when the order is ready.
Ready notifications say "ready for pickup at" the pickup location, instead of "on its way!".
Under Notify guests, the first option is called Once per pickup location.
Add pickup locations
Under Pickup locations, select Add pickup location.
Type a Location name, for example "Food counter". Guests see this name.
Under Prep stations, select the prep stations whose orders are collected here.
Repeat for every place where guests collect.
Select Save.

Good to know:
A prep station can belong to one pickup location only. Prep stations that are already used are greyed out.
Prep stations you don't add to a pickup location are listed under "Shown under their own name". Guests see the prep station name for those.
Two pickup locations can have the same name. This is useful when guests collect at the same place, but you want them notified separately for each group of prep stations.
To remove a pickup location, select the 🗑️ icon next to it.
If you switch off Guests pick up their own order, your pickup locations are kept and come back when you switch it on again.
Pickup locations and notifications
With Once per pickup location, guests get one message for each pickup location, as soon as everything there is ready. A pickup location with two prep stations waits until both are done. Read more in Notify guests when their order is ready.
