Setting up QR Upsell

Suggest extra products to guests alongside what they are already ordering.

What is QR Upsell?

With QR Upsell you can suggest extra products to guests while they order from your QR menu. For example, offer fries and a salad when someone orders a burger, or a beer when they order a snack.

Right after a guest adds a product to their order, a Goes well with this screen shows the products you want to offer. Guests can add them with one tap, or select Continue to go back to the menu.

Before you start

You can only offer products that guests can already order from your QR menu. Make sure each product you want to offer:

The same applies to the products that trigger the upsell.

Create an upsell

  1. In the Back Office, go to QR & Takeaway > Upsell.

  2. Select Add group.

  3. Type a Title. Guests see this as the heading above the products you offer, so describe what you're offering, for example "Add a side" or "Fancy a beer?".

  4. Under Offer these, start typing to search and add the products you want to suggest. You can also add a tag to offer all products with that tag. Read more in Using tags in QR Upsell.

  5. Under When the guest orders, add the products (or tags) that should show this upsell.

  6. Make sure Enabled is switched on.

  7. Select Save.

Your upsell now shows up in the list, with the products you offer and the products that trigger it.

Edit, pause or delete an upsell

  • To make changes, select the ✏️ icon next to the upsell, update it and select Save.

  • To pause an upsell without losing its setup, switch off Enabled and select Save. Guests stop seeing it until you switch it on again.

  • To remove an upsell, open it and select Delete. This cannot be undone.

What your guests see

  • The upsell screen only appears right after a guest adds a product. It does not appear in the cart or at checkout.

  • If more than one upsell matches the product, guests see up to 3 rows, in the order your upsells are listed on the Upsell page. Each row uses the title of its upsell.

  • Adding one of the offered products does not open another upsell screen.

  • Products that are sold out, or not available at that time or at that table, are left out automatically.

💡 Tip: keep it short. Two or three well-matched products usually work better than a long list.
