Recommend extra products with QR Upsell

Setting up QR Upsell

What QR Upsell does

  • QR Upsell lets you suggest extra products to guests while they order from your QR menu.

  • For example, you can offer fries with a burger, or a beer with a snack.

  • Right after a guest adds a product, a new screen shows the products you want to offer.

  • Guests can add a suggested product with one tap, or select Continue to go back to the menu.

  • QR Upsell works for both table ordering and Takeaway.

Before you start

  • Check that every product you want to use is on your QR menu.

  • Check that every product you want to use is assigned to a prep station.

  • This applies to the products you offer and to the products that trigger the upsell.

Creating an upsell

  • In the Back Office, go to QR & Takeaway > Upsell.

  • Select Add group.

  • Type a title, like "Add a side". Guests see this title as the heading above the products you offer.

  • Under Offer these, search for the products you want to suggest and add them.

  • Under When the guest orders, add the products that should show this upsell, for example your main courses.

  • Make sure Enabled is switched on.

  • Select Save. Your upsell now shows up in the list.

Using tags instead of single products

  • You can add a tag under Offer these or When the guest orders, instead of picking products one by one.

  • For example, you can offer every product tagged Bier when a guest orders anything tagged Snacks.

  • When you tag a new product later, the upsell includes it automatically, so you don't need to edit the upsell.

Fixing warnings

  • If a product or tag cannot reach guests, you see an orange warning icon next to it.

  • Hover over the icon to see what is wrong and how to fix it.

Editing, pausing, or deleting an upsell

  • To change an upsell, select the pencil icon next to it, make your changes, and select Save.

  • To pause an upsell without losing your setup, switch off Enabled and select Save.

  • To remove an upsell for good, open it and select Delete. This cannot be undone.

What guests see

  • Guests only see products they can order right now.

  • Sold-out products are left out automatically.

  • Products that are not available at that time, or at that table, are also left out automatically.

Tips

  • Keep each upsell short. Two or three well-matched products usually work better than a long list.

  • If your upsell is not showing, read our troubleshooting article in the Help Center.
