Your Tebi account comes with a widget you can put on your own website. Most venues set it up to take reservations, but that is not the only thing it does, and you do not need to be taking bookings to use it.
The same widget can sell gift cards, fill a course or an event, and take orders for cakes and other items your customers collect later. It sits on your website and takes the payment, even when you're closed.
Here is how to set each one up.
First, switch on the modules you need
If you don't see "Reservations" in the menu of the Back Office, you need to turn it on.
Go to Settings, then Modules in the back office. Every venue runs differently, so turn on what you need and skip the rest.
For everything in this guide, Reservations has to be on. Your widget takes its availability from the reservation setup, which is why it is the one module you cannot skip.
Turn on Takeaway as well if you are selling something the customer collects or has delivered, such as a cake order.
Complete your reservation setup
To set up your widget, first complete the set up steps you see in Reservations. The last step will be to install your widget.
If any of the steps is not complete, your widget will show no availability and it will look broken to your guests. For a small venue the set up takes about 20 minutes. It might sound like a lot, but you only do it once.
Selling gift cards
Your regulars want to buy something for a friend, and right now the only way is to come in during opening hours and ask.
Gift cards through the widget need the Tebi POS, because the card is redeemed at your till.
Create the gift card under Gift Cards > Settings (only gift cards with a fixed amount can be sold online).
Under Gift Card > Settings, turn on the toggle to sell gift cards online.
Now go to Settings > Payments and enable the payment method ‘Gift card’
That is the whole setup. Once it is live, your team does not need a separate process. An online gift card is redeemed at the till exactly like one sold in the venue.
Selling tickets for courses and events
A barista course, a wine tasting, a pasta workshop, a Sunday morning DJ set. All of them work the same way: a set number of seats, a set price, paid in full at booking.
Set a service and a schedule that match the event, so the slot only appears when the event actually runs.
If you don't need Tables and want to skip the floor plan set up, ensure you toggle off "Allocate guests to tables" in each schedule.
Turn on pre-payment and set the amount to the full ticket price. This is what turns a deposit into a ticket sale.
Rewrite the widget text under each Service. The default copy talks about pre-payment, which confuses someone who has just bought a ticket outright. Say what they are actually paying for, for example that the full course fee is charged now and their seat is confirmed straight away.

Step four is the one most people skip, and it is the one customers notice. A ticket buyer who reads "pre-payment" starts wondering what else they will be charged on the day. When you have no events coming up, you can toggle the service off the widget and leave the widget live for gift cards.
Taking cake and collection orders
Cake orders usually arrive by phone or in your Instagram messages, which means someone has to write them down and remember them. Your widget can take the order and the payment instead.

This needs both Reservations and Takeaway switched on as Modules.
Product Name & Description: In the Back Office under Products, create and name the item clearly (e.g., "Cookbook – Shipped to your home" or "Red Velved – Pick Up Only") and use the description field to explain pick up or shipping timelines, costs, and additional instructions.
Menu Category: Create a dedicated category in the QR & Takeaway Menu (e.g., "Cakes - Pick Up").
Checkout Order Notes: Instruct buyers in the Product description to enter any detail into the Order note / comment field during checkout.
Customer Contact Details: Takeaway checkout collects the customer’s name, email, and phone number, allowing the merchant to follow up directly if some details are missing.
Prep Station Handling: Assign the products to a dedicated prep station (e.g. "Pick Up Station") or with a longer preparation buffer under Settings so tickets do not cause confusion in the live kitchen flow.
Enable Pick Up: If your guests need to pick up your product, enable pick up times under QR & Takeaway > Takeaway > Pick up settings (requires opening hours).
The description field carries a lot here, so tell customers what to put in it. A message piped on the cake, an allergy, a collection window, a delivery address. An empty box gets you an empty answer, so prompt for what you need.
Worth knowing before you start
Gift cards need the Tebi POS. If you are not using it, they will not available to you yet. Talk to our team to switch to Tebi POS.
If you don’t want to use reservations, you can create your own button on your website and link directly to the page with your gift card shop.
Your widget text is shared, so if you take reservations and sell tickets through the same widget, write copy that works for both.
If you get stuck on any of this, message us in the chat and we will look at your setup with you.
