Set up Reserve with Google

From July 14th, Tebi supports Reserve with Google, letting guests book a table directly from Google Search and Google Maps without leaving the platform.

Tebi integrates with Reserve with Google from release 1.78. When a guest finds your restaurant on Google Search or Maps and clicks "Book a table", they can complete the reservation without leaving Google. The booking appears in Tebi straight away - in the app and Back Office - alongside reservations from all other channels.

Enable Reserve with Google

  1. Go to Back Office › Settings › Apps & Services.

  2. Find the Reserve with Google card and click Enable.

  3. After enabling, a window shows your reservation services and their current Google status.

  4. To control which services appear on Google, open each service's edit page and toggle Reserve with Google on or off.

Note: It can take up to 48 hours for the integration to go live on Google after enabling. Once live, your restaurant may take up to 2 weeks to appear as bookable while Google processes the setup.

Which services are eligible

A service appears on Google only if all of the following apply:

  • The service is visible in your booking widget (not set to private).

  • The service does not require a prepayment or credit card guarantee.

  • The Reserve with Google toggle is switched on for that service.

  • The service allows bookings up to at least one month in advance.

  • Reserve with Google shows your restaurant availability only for the upcoming 30 days, which differs from your main Tebi widget

If you use prepayments

Important: Services with a prepayment or credit card guarantee cannot be listed on Google — this is a Google requirement. If you want to appear on Google while keeping prepayments on your main services, create a separate service without a payment requirement:

  1. Go to Reservations > Availability and create a new service (for example, "Google Reservations").

  2. Do not add a prepayment or credit card guarantee to this service.

  3. Set the service to hidden in your widget: open the service's edit page and disable Show in widget.

  4. Enable Reserve with Google for this service.

  5. Use Advanced guest limits in the schedule to control how much capacity you offer through Google.

This keeps your Google listing active without exposing the service to guests booking directly through your widget.

How it works for your guests

When a guest books through Google:

  • Their name, email, and phone number (if provided) are passed to Tebi.

  • The reservation is confirmed immediately — automatic confirmation is a Google requirement and cannot be changed.

  • The booking appears with a Google icon in your timeline and agenda, so you can tell it apart from reservations from other channels.

  • Guests cannot choose a specific service when booking through Google.

  • Guests cannot add notes during the booking flow. They do receive a confirmation email from Tebi, where they can send you a message — for example to flag an allergy or special request.

  • Marketing consent is not collected for Google bookings.

Modifying or cancelling a Google reservation

You can cancel or modify a Google reservation directly in Tebi — in the app or Back Office — the same way you would any other reservation. Tebi notifies Google and the guest automatically.

Guests can also cancel through Google. The cancellation appears in Tebi straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Does Reserve with Google work for cafes, bakeries, and other venue types?
Yes. The integration works for any venue using Tebi Reservations.

Do my pacing settings apply to Google reservations?
Yes. Google reservations count toward your pacing and day limits, the same as bookings from the widget or Back Office.

How long does it take to go live after enabling?
It can take up to 48 hours for the integration to become active after enabling. Once active, allow up to 2 weeks for your restaurant to appear as bookable on Google while Google processes the setup.

How long does disabling the integration take?
Your services stop being bookable immediately in Tebi when you disable the integration. It can take up to 48 hours for your listing to be removed from Google.

My restaurant still isn't showing on Google after 2 weeks. What should I check?
Go through this checklist:

  • The Reserve with Google toggle is switched on for at least one service.

  • That service has Show in widget enabled.

  • The service has no prepayment or credit card guarantee enabled.

  • The service allows bookings up to at least one month in advance.

If everything looks correct and it's been more than 2 weeks, contact Tebi Support.

Can I confirm Google reservations manually?
No. Reservations through Reserve with Google are always confirmed automatically — this is a Google requirement. If you prefer to review bookings before confirming, guests would need to book through your Tebi widget or another channel.

Are there commissions or extra costs?
No. Tebi doesn't charge commission on reservations from Google. It's included in your subscription.

How do I disable the integration?
Go to Back Office › Settings › Apps & Services and disable Reserve with Google. Your services stop being bookable immediately. Allow up to 48 hours for your listing to be removed from Google.
