Setting up your Floor plan

Set up your Floor plan in a few steps

What a Floor plan does

  • Lets you assign sales to a table or an area.

  • Helps you track table status.

  • Shows reservations on tables.

  • Keeps table service organized.

Do you need a Floor plan?

  • If your venue doesn't seat guests at tables, for example counter service or takeaway, you probably don't need one.

  • Even with tables, you don't have to assign every sale to one.

  • Turn on Allow sales outside tables in the Tebi App if you want that flexibility.

Getting started

  • Log into the Tebi Back Office from a laptop or desktop computer. The Floor plan editor isn't available from the Tebi App.

  • Go to Floor plan. You'll find it in the side menu, under Operations.

Creating areas

  • Your location is organized into areas, like Restaurant or Terrace.

  • Choose the areas you have, and how many tables each one holds.

  • Select Create Floor Plan.

  • Each area shows how many tables and seats it holds.

Adding tables

  • Select an area to open it.

  • Add tables in one click.

  • A table's area is set automatically, but you can move it based on your venue's structure.

  • Select a table to open its settings:

    • Rename it under Table name.

    • Bookable by guests controls whether guests can reserve it.

    • Set the minimum and maximum party size under Table capacity.

    • Set the background and text colors under Appearance.

Creating table groups

  • Select the tables and create a Table Group to seat a large party across several tables.

  • Tebi treats them as one unit for that booking.

  • Only tables with Bookable by guests turned on count towards a group.

  • Turn on Neighboring tables only if the tables must sit next to each other to be booked together.

  • Leave it off to allow any smaller combination of the group's tables to be offered together.

  • Use Capacity adjustment to correct the total seat count, for example, when pushing tables together adds or removes seats.

  • Use Maximum group size to set a limit.

  • Check the sidebar for every valid combination of tables in the group, along with its seat range.

Styling your Floor plan

  • Go to Styling.

  • Upload a background image, or pick a background color for your location.

  • Use this to show a simple layout of how your venue is organized.

Saving your changes

  • Select Edit to make changes.

  • The Save button only becomes active once you've made a change.

  • Save before leaving the page, or you'll lose your progress.

Known limits

  • Tables are always rectangles.

  • There's no round table option.

  • You can't rotate a table, only resize it.

  • Each location can only have one Floor plan right now.

Related settings

  • Go to Settings > Preferences > Floor plan in the Tebi App. From there, you can:

    • Allow sales outside tables

    • Show reservations on tables

    • Lock the orientation

    • Highlight sales
