QR Ordering: FAQ

Answers to common questions about what QR Ordering can and cannot do.

Can I set a minimum order amount?

No. There is currently no setting to require a minimum order value for QR orders.

Can customers order bundles through the QR menu?

No. Bundles are not supported in QR Ordering. Only individual products can be ordered through the QR menu.

Can customers buy gift cards through QR Ordering?

No. Online gift card sales are not available through QR Ordering or the Takeaway widget. Gift cards are managed separately in Tebi.

Does QR Takeaway support delivery?

QR Takeaway is designed for pickup orders only. Tebi does not manage delivery logistics such as rider dispatch, delivery tracking, or delivery fees.

If your venue offers delivery, you can use a third-party delivery service alongside Tebi. The delivery side of your operation is then handled outside of Tebi.

Can I customise the look of the QR ordering page?

You can set a theme color for the header and button highlights, and upload your business logo via the Tebi App under Settings > Printing > Upload business logo.

Beyond that, custom fonts, button labels, custom header text below the logo, and hiding the Tebi branding are not available at this time.

Can I use QR Ordering for more than one profit center?

QR Ordering can only be offered for one profit center within a single Tebi Ledger. If you operate multiple locations and want separate financials, each location should use its own Ledger with its own QR Ordering setup.

Do QR Ordering Opening Hours affect my Reservation hours?

No. The Opening Hours for QR Ordering and the opening hours for Reservations are two independent settings. Changing one does not affect the other.

Can customers order outside of Opening Hours?

If you have Takeaway with pickup times enabled, customers can place orders outside of your current Opening Hours — as long as the selected pickup time falls within your Opening Hours. For example, a guest could order at 9 PM for a noon pickup the next day. How far ahead they can order depends on your advance ordering setting.

For Table Ordering, guests can only order during your Opening Hours.

Why is the email address mandatory for payment before service?

When a customer pays before service, the payment receipt is sent by email. That is why both the customer's name and email address are required fields. For payment after service, only the name is needed.

What happens when I turn off QR Ordering?

Disabling QR Ordering only affects the online ordering experience. Your POS and all in-venue operations continue to work as normal. Customers who try to scan a QR code or follow a Takeaway link will see a message that ordering is not available.

Do orders from multiple guests' phones at the same table get combined?

It depends on the payment method:

  • Pay-before-service — orders from different devices show up as separate sales. This prevents guests from inadvertently ordering on someone else's bill.

  • Pay-after-service — orders from different phones at the same table are automatically combined into one open sale. Pay-after-service is available on request; contact Tebi Support to enable it.
