Overview
The auto-print feature lets your Kitchen Display System (KDS) automatically print a prep ticket whenever a course reaches a specific status, without anyone having to tap "Print" manually.
This is useful when, for example, you want the bar to receive a printed ticket as soon as the POS fires a drinks course, or when you want a paper record printed the moment a course is marked as served.
Requirements
A printer must be assigned to the relevant prep station in your device's printer settings.
Have the KDS screen open while using.
How to set it up
Open the Tebi POS app on the device that is connected to your printer.
Go to Settings → Printers.
Select the printer assigned to your prep station (e.g. Bar, Kitchen).
Under Auto-print by course status, you'll see a toggle for each course status:
Prepare — the course has been added to the KDS
Preparing — the course is being worked on
Serve — the course is ready to go out
Done — the course has been finished
Turn on the toggle(s) for the status(es) that should trigger an automatic print.
Save your settings.
From that point on, whenever a course on the KDS moves to one of your selected statuses, whether someone taps it on that device or it is updated from another device (when having the KDS open), a prep ticket prints automatically.
How it works
Auto-printing is per-printer and per-prep-station. Each printer can have its own set of trigger statuses.
If a course status is changed from another device (e.g. a second KDS screen or the POS), the printer on this device will still fire automatically.
Each course only triggers one print per status change, there are no duplicate prints if the same course is updated multiple times.
The ticket that prints is the same prep ticket you would get from a manual print: it shows the items, the table, and any course notes.
Tips
Bar tickets: Enable auto-print on the "Serve" status on your bar printer so a paper ticket is generated the moment the bartender marks a drink ready to go.
Confirmation copy: Enable auto-print on the "Prepare" status to get a paper record of every course the moment it is fired from the POS.
If you don't want a status to trigger printing any more, simply turn its toggle off, no reboot needed.
