Check the basics
Is the printer on?
Are the power and ethernet cables connected?
Is the adaptor connected?
Are the relevant lights on for the connection you're using?
Check your connection
Bluetooth or USB: on the tablet, go to Settings > Printing > Printer selection to see if your device is connected to the printer(s).
Network printers: turn the printer off and on again. A receipt should print telling you the connection status.
For each configured printer you'll see a colour: Green (connected), Orange (testing connection), Red (connection test failed) — each shows an error message to guide you.
Note: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth printers go into sleep mode after a period of inactivity, to save energy. It can take a moment to reconnect once you start using the device again — this may be why tickets aren't printing.
Note: A printer connected via USB only works with the device it's plugged into. Print jobs from other devices won't print.
Print a test receipt
In the Tebi App, go to Menu > Settings > Printing > Printer selection, select the configured printer, and tap Print test receipt.
If a receipt prints but your problem isn't solved, it's a configuration issue:
For receipts or prep tickets, see Connecting your printers.
For a printed prep station, see Using a printed prep station.
If no test receipt prints
Deselect all the selected printer jobs.
Go back to Printer selection.
If your printer works and is connected properly, it should still appear in the list of available printers.
Select the printer and tap Print test receipt.
If it doesn't show in the list, repeat steps 1–4.
Still not working? The printer is probably broken, or there's a larger network issue — contact [email protected].
Tips for common printing issues
We don't recommend using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to connect your printer.
Use an Ethernet cable — this is the most reliable connection.
Use tie wraps or tape to secure your adaptors and wires so they can't accidentally be unplugged.
If the printer doesn't work after a power outage, print a test receipt. If that fails, reconfigure the printer under Settings > Printing > Printer selection — a power outage can assign a new USB address, which is why the printer isn't recognised.
